In 2011 Kelly Nye, a former Highland resident, started taking photos to earn donations for animal rescues with friend Sue Zieske.
Kelly Nye, a former Highland resident, has always had a passion for photography and a love of animals. Nye is now putting her photography skills to use and helping to give back to animal rescues throughout the area. Nye, who owns Creative Dog Photography with friend Sue Zieske, said that while they do have an LLC, they don't consider themselves a business. "We are not interested in doing this (taking photos) for personal profit, we are just a couple of avid photographers who want to use our hobby to raise money for various animal rescue organizations," Nye said. Through television commercials and in-store promotions, Kroger is bringing Michigan Made products to the forefront of its shelves in response to consumer demand for local products.
Visit the dairy case at any Kroger store in the state and you’ll see the first feature of the company’s partnership with Pure Michigan to promote locally raised and made foods. Kroger brand milk is the star of the newest Pure Michigan television commercial and the first consumer packaged good to be featured in the state’s iconic advertising campaign. More than 30 local businesses and non-profits showcase their Michigan made chops at the Great Lakes Showcase Monday.
Say "bye-bye" to foreign products and buy Michigan! That’s what the owners of more than 30 Michigan-based companies and non-profits are hoping customers will do. They featured their products at the Great Lakes Showcase at the Southfield Westin Hotel on Monday. “If Michigan people buy Michigan stuff, the economy will improve for everyone. It’s really simple and basic—but true,” said Rejeana Heinrich of Standish, MI, a self-proclaimed sisterprenuer, who in conjunction with her two sisters launched Michigan-Made.com, a website dedicated to selling only Michigan-made products.
