National Weather Service Event a Hit in White Lake
Droves of people turned up at the National Weather Service office in White Lake for a 20th anniversary celebration and open house Wednesday.
Meteorologists with the White Lake National Weather Service Office said Wednesday's open house event was a huge hit - much more so than they had anticipated. Cars lined White Lake Road and nearby side streets as parking at the NWS office off White Lake Road quickly filled by 2 p.m. "We had no idea so many people would show up so early," Meteorologist Heather Orow said. "This is fantastic." While hundreds waited in a long line outside to tour the facility. Kids lined up at Orow's station where she showed them how different things can affect rain water runoff.
