A woman reported that her daughter was raped at knife point.
A Highland Township teen has been arrested under suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl, according to an article on WHMI. The girl's mother contacted the Oakland County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday, reporting that her daughter came home and said a boy, 16, from the trailer park had raped her a knife point in the woods, according to WHMI. According to the article, police said the girl had serious injuries and was treated at Huron Valley Hospital. Criminal charges are pending.

A vehicle fire at Highland Greens Mobile Home Park is being called suspicious by Oakland County Sheriff's deputies.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office was called Oct. 22 to a home on North Shetland Court in Highland after the homeowners reported a fire. When deputies arrived, they found a man in the driveway of the home attempting to put out a car that had caught fire. According to the report, the car and surrounding area smelled heavily like gasoline. The owner of the car spoke to the deputies and, the report states, told them she had been having some problems with one of her family members. The woman told deputies that she had been arguing with a family member earlier in the day. A 24-year-old Detroit man was arrested Oct. 20 after deputies with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said he rear-ended a car at the intersection of Duck Lake and M-59 and then left the scene. According to the report, immediately following the accident, the man got out of the car to exchange information with the woman who's car he hit. However, when the woman said she was calling police, the man grabbed his information out of her hand, got back into his car and left driving west on M-59, the report states. A deputy at M-59 and Milford Road saw the vehicle at a pump at the Mobil gas station. The deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the man. At least 10 cars on Foxgrove and Elkridge in Highland Township were broken into sometime between Oct. 4 and Oct. 5. according to reports filed with the Oakland County Sheriff's Highland Substation. The reports all state that sometime during the night, an unknown person or persons broke out a window of a locked vehicle and took items from inside the car. Items taken from the cars include purses, wallets, cellphones, laptops, GPS systems, cash and other electronics. The incidents are similar to a rash of break-ins from White Lake, though deputies with the substation said they don't know if the incidents from both communities are related. Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on the 4000 block of Mallard's Landing in Highland after the homeowner noticed items missing from his cars. According to the report, the incident happened sometime between Sept. 24 and Sept. 25. The man told deputies, the report states, that several items were taken from two unlocked cars parked in the driveway of his home. In total, $840 worth of electronics, including an amplifier and sub-woofers, and sunglasses were reported missing. There are no suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation. A total of 24 rims and tires were taken off six brand new Dodge Ram 1500 Trucks parked in a lot at Szott M-59 Dodge in Highland. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 13 and Sept. 15, according to the report filed with the Highland Substation. The report states deputies were called to the scene when an employee at the dealership noticed the six trucks sitting on cement blocks. There are trails behind the dealership, the report states, and they lead to Duck Lake Road. Police are currently reviewing security surveillance. The incident remains under investigation. Employees with Wee Friends Child Care in Highland reported two break-ins over the span of three days. According to a report filed with the Oakland County Sheriff's substation in Highland, someone entered the building sometime between Aug. 24 and Aug. 25; and between Aug. 25 and Aug. 26. The report states the person or persons wrote profanities on the parent sign-in sheet and tied strings to items inside the building. Then, they wrote profanities in the dust on cars parked outside the business. A teacher with the child care center told police each time it's happened, she and the other employees found the main entrance unlocked. A 52-year-old Milford resident was banned from Jay Chevrolet in Highland after the man made death threats to employees, a report with the Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies states. According to the report, the man called the dealership on Aug. 15 to inquire about having work done on his truck. After the dealership informed the man that his truck was not under warranty, the man got angry. The report states that the man told two different employees that he was going to get a gun and kill "a bunch of (expletive)," he then said he was going to kill himself.
