UPDATE: Storm Blows Through White Lake, Wreaks Minor Havoc
White Lake Police are reporting downed wires and trees across the township. A small portion of residents are without power.
There are still people without power in White Lake. If you are without power or air-conditioning there are areas in the township you can go to get out of the heat including the White Lake Library and the Dublin Community Center. Lakeland High School's pool also has open swim hours each day posted here. The power outages are as follows: Oakland County is expected to endure its worst combination of heat and humidity to hit southeast Michigan in more than 15 years, according to the National Weather Service. The area is under a heat advisory and an air quality alert for the entire region as heat indexes are expected to be in the 90s on Tuesday — a slight drop from Monday — but exceed 100 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
