Local businesses are now taking orders for Thanksgiving turkeys, where do you get yours?
It's the spotlight of any Thanksgiving celebration - the turkey. The turkey can often make or break the holiday, so finding the perfect one is important. Howell woman's family calls the meal 'Bunny Soup,' a reflection of her nickname.
Debi Drick of Howell makes a mean turkey soup. Known at her house as "Bunny Soup," Drick said she has to make a second turkey just to satisfy her family's craving for the delicious concoction. Drick says of the name, "My husband and children have called me 'Bunny' for years. Since I have always been the only cook in the house, anything I cooked was referred to as 'bunny food' to the kids." "The after-Thanksgiving turkey soup was always everyone's favorite," Drick said. I have ordered Empire turkey's via Hiller's Market - love them but had one last year from http://www.peacockspoultryfarm.com at 6355 Rochester Road, Troy, Michigan 48085 (248) 879-0020 at a friend's home and decided to try this for Thanksgiving 2012. I will check out the above ones for Christmas and future turkey dinners. I am always looking for fresh, humanely raised, free range protein .   more ›
