The desire for "some sort of kids center" has come up numerous times in conjunction with various vacant sites. What is the usage utilization over at the Dublin Senior Center? That facility consumes over $120k of White Lake Township's budget each year. Perhaps a day or two each week of the center can be reserved for this "some sort of kids center" use, with appropriate fees to cover staff and …   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Business Should Locate Here?

Trifles has moved to a new location in West Bloomfield. What type of business should fill the newly emptied space in White Lake?

This building is the former home of Trifles. Trifles moved earlier this month to a building in West Bloomfield. Owner Gwen Borders said the business will operate out of the store on Elizabeth Lake Road in White Lake during the move this month. So, what do you think should locate to this now vacant space? Should one of the nearby businesses expand? Would you want to see a place like 5 Guys Burger and Fries here? Or, do you think we need a different type of business?

And there are still a few spots left in the Chocolate! program Gwen's going to present at the White Lake Twp. Library on Monday, Oct. 8, from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Just call the library at 248-698-4942, ext. 2 to register. We're going to miss having her so close.   more ›

Aside from begging the owners to reconsider and reopen the ice cream shop, what type of business would you like to see locate here?

Right now, we have to trek to downtown Pontiac to go to e.g. Clutch Cargo's or The Crofoot. Don't get me wrong, places like Baker's, Billy's Tip-N-Inn or the Red Dog all have great local live music, but to …   more ›

Bookstore for sure! We've lost even the used bookstores. Closest are Novi & Brighton. How about it combined with an Art Gallery-type display for all of Huron Valley Schools art teachers to fill with kids' art works? There is a lot of talent in this area.   more ›
