Man Threatened With Machete During Fight, Police Say

White Lake Police are looking for any information about a verbal fight that occurred May 6 at the BP gas station off M-59 near Pontiac Lake Road. According to a report, two men in a green Ford Taurus got into an altercation with a man and his female passenger after one of the men in the Taurus made a remark to the female. The report states that one of the men in the Taurus pulled a machete out of the back of the car and started to make threatening gestures towards the man in the other car with the knife. The man in the other car, the report states, pulled out a baseball bat. Then the second man in the Taurus also pulled out a baseball bat and the three continued to argue. Police Call Off Chase in White Lake Following Mail Theft

White Lake Police were called to a home on the 900 block of Round Lake Road May 3 at 11 a.m. following a reported mail theft. The homeowner told police that he witnessed two males in a white Chrysler minivan pull up to his mailbox and remove a envelope postmarked to DTE with a check in it, according to police. The report states that the two males saw the homeowner looking and took off. Shortly thereafter, police received a call about a white minivan driving recklessly down Elizabeth Lake Road near Williams Lake Road. The report states that a White Lake Police officer in the area found the vehicle and attempted to get it to pull over, however the driver did not comply and took off at a high rate of speed. Woman Found Unresponsive in White Lake Home

White Lake Police were called to a home on the 3000 block of Jackson Boulevard in White Lake April 15 after a woman told police she found her friend unconscious at the home. When police arrived on the scene, the report states, they found a 27-year-old at the home, unresponsive. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for a suspected heroin overdose, police said. According to the report, there was a young child at the home who was released into the custody of his father. Police noted in the report that drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.

Police Called to White Lake Middle School Following Possible Threat

An 18-year-old made comments about getting even with a student at White Lake Middle School, according to White Lake Police.

White Lake Police were called to White Lake Middle School Monday afternoon after an 18-year-old man made some comments about getting even with his 13-year-old ex-girlfriend, according to police. Lt. Don Nankervis said the male, who had recently turned 18, was involved in a social relationship with a 13-year-old student at White Lake Middle School. When the two broke up, Nankervis said, the 18-year-old had made some comments about getting back at the student. As a precaution, police were notified, Nankervis said. In a statement to parents, Kim Root with the Huron Valley School District said a non-specific threat was made on social media. Police Say Woman Suffered Multiple Gun Shot Wounds in White Lake Murder-Suicide

Police discovered the bodies of a White Lake couple in a home off Danforth at 9 p.m. Monday.

Police are now releasing the names of the two White Lake residents involved in what officials are calling a murder-suicide. Police Chief Ed Harris said 37-year-old Jason Handy shot his wife, Lorian Handy, 33, multiple times Monday night before turning the gun on himself in their home off Danforth in White Lake. "He only had one visible gunshot wound from what I could see," Harris said. "She had several wounds." Lorian Handy's 8-year-old son was the only other person home at the time. Harris said it's still not certain if he heard the gun shots, or actually witnessed the crime, "We are giving the child some space, he's obviously been through a lot and we don't want to press him for information. Police Say Child, 8, Ran to Neighbors for Help Following Shooting in White Lake

The boy was released to his father, White Lake Police said, after hearing his stepfather kill his mother, then himself.

It was a long night for neighbors, police and one White Lake family. According to reports, a husband and wife in their 30s were found dead in a home off Danforth late Monday night. The woman's 8-year-old son ran to a neighbor's house to call for help around 9 p.m., telling police his stepfather had shot his mother, and then himself, according to White Lake Police. Chief Ed Harris said the department had no history with the couple, who had only lived in the area for a year or so. "We've never had any calls, there was no history of violence that we know of," Harris said. The 8-year-old was taken to the station and released to his birth father. Police Investigating Possible Murder-Suicide in White Lake

Police discovered two bodies in a home off Danforth in White Lake at 9 p.m. Monday.

White Lake Police Chief Ed Harris confirmed Monday night that the department is investigating the deaths of two people in what appears to be a murder-suicide. Officers were were called to a home on Danforth in White Lake Monday night following reports of gun shots. Upon arrival, two bodies were found inside the home, he said. Harris said the department is not releasing names or the genders of the deceased at this time, but said both are in their 30's or 40's. Harris said there were no other people inside the home. Several Larcenies Reported Near Ormond, White Lake Roads

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police Lt. Don Nankervis said a rash of larcenies have been reported in White Lake near Ormond and White Lake Roads. According to Nankervis, several cars, garages and sheds have been broken into in the last two weeks, and several items have gone missing including electronics and tools. Nankervis said the department doesn't have any suspects at this time, but all of the incidents are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 248-698-4400.

Two Men Charged with Breaking and Entering in White Lake

Tyler Oaks, 20, of Farmington Hills, and Leneal Whitehead, 21, of Detroit, were arraigned Wednesday on charges of second degree breaking and entering—a 15-year felony—after being arrested in White Lake. According to a report filed with the White Lake Police Department, the two men were arrested Monday after police responded to a report of a home invasion on the 1000 block of Teakwood in White Lake. The report states that Oaks and Whitehead were apprehended as they were exiting the home through a broken back door. Lt. Don Nankervis said a neighbor called police after seeing the two men enter the home. The neighbor told police that he called the homeowners, who were on vacation, and confirmed that the men were not supposed to be there. The …

Teen Arrested on Drug Possession Charges at High School

A 16-year-old former Lakeland student was arrested at the school March 15 after being asked to leave the building. According to the report, the teen told White Lake police he was at the school to visit a former teacher. The report states he was walking around the building while classes were in session, and asked to leave by the school resource officer. The officer noted in the report that the teen smelled like marijuana. The teen denied having any drugs on him, the report states, but marijuana and two pipes were found in his backpack. The teen was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The teen was released to his parents.
