Three cars were reported taken from homes in White Lake in the last week, according to White Lake Police. The first car was taken in the early morning hours of Aug. 12. The report states that the car was parked in the driveway of a home on the 5000 block of Cedar Island. The owner told police his 2000 Honda Accord had the keys in the glove-box when it was taken, the report states. Lt. Don Nankervis said the man drove around the township looking for the missing car and found it parked in the parking lot of a business on M-59. Nankervis said the man and his brother were able to transport the car back to his house, but the keys are still missing. There was no damage to the car. A number of cars on Glasgow, Newport, Satellite and Sussex were broken into sometime between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, according to White Lake Township police reports. Several items were taken from the vehicles including GPS units, iPods, wallets and a laptop computer. There are no suspects at this time, and the incidents remain under investigation. Water Softener Services on M-59 was broken into sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 4, according to township police reports. According to the report, someone got into the building through the back door and entered the office, and $250 was reported missing. Police have a suspect, and are continuing the investigation. White Lake Police were called to the Salvation Army on Highland Road in White Lake following a reported breaking and entering. According to the report, a window was broken out sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. The report states it appears someone entered the building through the broken window, kicked open the door to the store's office and rummaged through the office. Lt. Don Nankervis said some items were taken, but that police didn't want to release that information yet. Evidence was collected from the seen, but there are no named suspects at this time. White Lake Police are investigating the use of a counterfeit $100 bill at Kroger. According to the report, a man in his 20s came in to the store June 14 and purchased $150 in gift cards at the service desk. Lt. Don Nankervis said the man paid for the cards using cash, including the $100 bill. Later, when store employees were cashing out they noticed the $100 was a fake, the report states. "It appears the $100 bill was actually a $5 that had been altered," Nankervis said. The incident remains under investigation. On June 15, at the beach at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, a clutch purse was reported missing. The purse's owner, a 18-year-old Waterford resident, told police she had the purse with her towel at the beach. According to the report…
