Approximately $500 in video games and a gaming system were taken from a home on the 200 block of Blanch Manor in White Lake. According to the report filed with the White Lake Police Department, the owner told police the incident happened sometime between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on March 13. The report states that someone manipulated a broken lock on the front door of the home to gain entry. Police have a suspect, and the incident remains under investigation.

White Lake Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Summit Ridge after a breaking and entering was reported. According to the report, the incident happened on March 10 sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The report states that someone broke the rear sliding glass door of the property and entered the home. Approximately $1,200 in cash, $2,300 in jewelry and a pair of $180 sunglasses were taken from the home. Police interviewed neighbors, and nobody reported seeing anything the report states. Two Lakeland High School students were taken to the hospital Friday around noon after White Lake Police say the students ingested drugs. School Resource Officer Jon Kirken with White Lake Police said three students are suspected to have eaten a food product with either marijuana or THC in it while at school Friday. Of the three students, two had to be taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening symptoms after ingesting the food and suspected drugs. Kirken said there are few details that can be released at this time, including the ages of the students. The incident remains under investigation.

A number of residents along Grass Lake Road in White Lake Township reported that someone had gone through their vehicles sometime during the overnight hours between Sunday and Monday. According to the reports, nothing of significance was reported missing from the cars that were parked in neighborhoods along Grass Lake Road from Hill Road to Ormond. Lt. Don Nankervis with the White Lake Police Department said a small red car was reported in the area, but gone when police were called to the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 248-698-4400. Nankervis said residents should call if they notice anyone or anything suspicious in the area. White Lake Police say a White Lake woman sent approximately $30,000 to Malaysia to support a "man" she met online.
A 63-year-old woman was the victim of a 'Catfish' scam according to White Lake Police. The term “catfish” comes from the popular MTV show based on the movie of the same name and is defined as someone who creates fake profiles on social media and pursues online relationships under a false identity. A report filed by the woman with police Feb. 20 states that the woman began a relationship with a man she met online in October. From October through Feb. 1 the woman helped the man, who said he needed investors for a gas station he was building in Malaysia. The report states that the woman spent nearly $30,000 in computers and other items, sending them to an address in Malaysia. The man, according police, told the woman he lived in Illinois. The…

White Lake Police are looking for any information about the breaking and entering.
Three expensive items were taken from a barn on the 6000 block of Grass Lake Road in White Lake sometime between Jan. 30 and Feb. 27. According to a report filed with the police department, two welders and a generator were taken from the barn. The report states a door to the barn had been forced open. The welders are valued at $2,000 each, and the generator is worth $500, the report states. There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. A 23-year-old Waterford man received a citation from White Lake Police for leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without due care and caution after striking a utility pole in White Lake. The accident occurred at 4 a.m. on Feb. 24. According to the report, the man was driving along Cooley Beach Drive near Casa Loma when he lost control and struck the pole. When police arrived at the scene, they found the car up against the pole, but the driver was gone, it had appeared he left the scene on foot. The report states that the man came to the police station on Feb. 25 around noon after he went to the scene and found his car missing. Police gave him the citations at the station and sent him on his way.

Police are looking for any information about a breaking and entering at Great Clips in White Lake.
White Lake Police were called to the Great Clips, near Sonic, on Highland Road in White Lake Feb. 24 after the owner told police an alarm was going off at the building. Police responded in the early morning hours and found the backdoor of the business was open. Police searched the building and the area but didn't locate anyone suspicious. When the owner arrived, she went through the store and found that a safe and an undisclosed amount of cash were missing. More cases of credit card number thefts are popping up in White Lake and Highland
Last week detectives with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Highland Substation said the department was being inundated with reports of identity and credit card number thefts. White Lake Police Chief Ed Harris said his department is joining the investigation after some area residents reported similar thefts. Harris said the cases have several similarities, including an unknown person using stolen credit card numbers at businesses in White Lake and the surrounding area, and victims still having possession of the credit cards being used. "We're investigating it along with Highland," Harris said. "We know there are some places that all these victims have in common so we are working on those leads." Three men are wanted for questioning in White Lake after White Lake Police say the men attempted to take computer parts from Walmart. The report states that two men entered Walmart on Feb. 15, grabbed a cart and went to the electronics section. There, they placed external hard drives and other computer parts in the cart. They walked through the store with the items and ran into a third man. That man took the cart from the other two, the report states. All three men then left the store without paying for the items, the report states. The items in the cart were valued at $280.
