From the Editor

White Lake-Highland Patch Editor Takes on New Role

Editors Nicole Krawcke and Tatum Ryan will join Brooke Tajer in writing about our towns.

After serving for more than two years as the editor of White Lake Patch, which added Highland to its coverage area last year, I am happy to announce that I am taking on a new role at Patch -- one that will encourage readers to take more control over the site, posting stories, events and announcements that are important to you. My new role will be more of a regional one, working with eight other sites in Oakland, Livingston, Wayne and Washtenaw counties, in addition to White Lake-Highland Patch. You'll still see my name and face on the site, and on Facebook and Twitter. And of course, you will still see me around town in person -- White Lake is my hometown, after all. Thank you to the Office Max, White Lake store. I bought a bookshelf and was disappointed to have all the pieces unpacked but no assembly instructions. The store manager found the instructions, and faxed them to my house, saving me a trip to the store. It might not seem like a big deal when you read it here, now, but trust me it saved me a huge amount of frustration and inconvenience.   more ›

Starting today, all the news and features you've been getting on White Lake business and residents will now include Highland business and residents as well, right here at the new White Lake-Highland Patch. You can expect the same in-depth coverage of both communities, as we continue to highlight news and events in White Lake Township and Highland Township. Why combine the two sites?
