The desire for "some sort of kids center" has come up numerous times in conjunction with various vacant sites. What is the usage utilization over at the Dublin Senior Center? That facility consumes over $120k of White Lake Township's budget each year. Perhaps a day or two each week of the center can be reserved for this "some sort of kids center" use, with appropriate fees to cover staff and …   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Business Should Locate Here?

Trifles has moved to a new location in West Bloomfield. What type of business should fill the newly emptied space in White Lake?

This building is the former home of Trifles. Trifles moved earlier this month to a building in West Bloomfield. Owner Gwen Borders said the business will operate out of the store on Elizabeth Lake Road in White Lake during the move this month. So, what do you think should locate to this now vacant space? Should one of the nearby businesses expand? Would you want to see a place like 5 Guys Burger and Fries here? Or, do you think we need a different type of business?

Lakeshore Hilltop Apartments, Renovated and Ready for Business

Under new management, the apartment complex off M-59 has been transformed into a family-friendly community aimed at giving residents a slice of pure Michigan.

When new owners Bryan Muscat, 28, and Jake Wiles, 27, first saw Lakeshore Hilltop Apartments, they saw opportunity. "It was the perfect property," Muscat said. "It had everything you'd want in a nice community and had a real "up north" type feel. There was a lot of potential, it just needed some cleaning up. And cleaning up is what they did when they purchased the property in May. Driving down M-59 you'll notice the new entrance sign and white picket fence along the perimeter of the property. In addition, Muscat said he and Wiles have cleared out some of the tenants that caused issues in the complex in the past. "We really want the community to be a family community, so we've worked hard to make sure that not only are the apartments …
