This 2,500 sq. ft. space has been vacant for awhile. Located off M-59 in White Lake, near Fisk Road, it's listed for $12 a square foot per year. According to the listing on loopnet.com, the property is a great retail or office space in a prime location. What would you like to see happen to this property?

The desire for "some sort of kids center" has come up numerous times in conjunction with various vacant sites. What is the usage utilization over at the Dublin Senior Center? That facility consumes over $120k of White Lake Township's budget each year. Perhaps a day or two each week of the center can be reserved for this "some sort of kids center" use, with appropriate fees to cover staff and …   more ›

to add: looking up the property in the County tax logs, the Mama Mia site is shown as:9361 COOLEY LAKE RD WHITE LAKE, MI 48386 PIN: 12-35-455-001 Assessed Value: $185,790 Taxable Value: $185,790 while the abutting parcel to the south in Commerce is shown as: ADDRESS NOT LISTED PIN: 17-02-208-038 It would seem, then, that Commerce has come to the conclusion that the marshy area is largely …   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Business Should Locate Here?

You don't need to be an urban planner to know what White Lake needs from this vacancy. Talk about it on Patch.

This building is the former home of Flowers of the Lakes. Flowers of the Lakes moved earlier this month to a building across the street from this location and will have a ribbon cutting ceremony June 27 at 9 a.m. So, what do you think should locate to this now vacant space? Should one of the nearby businesses expand? Would you want to see a place like 5 Guys Burger and Fries here?

This building has been vacant for several years. The former home of a dry cleaners and party store, this building is now facing a dangerous buildings hearing Thursday at the township planning commission meeting. What do you think? Should this building be torn down? If it is torn down, what would you like to see replace it?

I say tear it down and build a gas station that doesn’t sell K2, Spice like the shell gas station across the street from this wore out building.   more ›

This space is located off Cooley Lake Road near O'Reilly Auto Parts. What type of business do you want to see in this space? A doctor's office? A bank? A no-kill animal shelter?

Visions for Vacancies: What Should Happen to this Village Lakes Space?

You don't need to be an urban planner to know what White Lake needs from this vacancy. Talk about it on Patch.

This space in the Village Lakes plaza between the new White Lake Urgent Care and Marshalls is the last open space available in the plaza. What would you like to see in this space? A skate shop? A clothing boutique? A bookstore?

Bookstore for sure! We've lost even the used bookstores. Closest are Novi & Brighton. How about it combined with an Art Gallery-type display for all of Huron Valley Schools art teachers to fill with kids' art works? There is a lot of talent in this area.   more ›

One more recommendation for you from reader Laura: "I can, without hesitation, highly recommend "Dry Cleaning by Value" on Union Lake Rd just south of Commerce Road. The name, OK, admittedly isn't not a grabber of a name. But hands down, the best service. Never disappointed. The prices are great. PLUS there's an on-staff tailor AND an on-staff leather repair man." Hope that helps!   more ›
