A White Lake Township police officer and a passenger were transported to McLaren Hospital for minor injuries following an accident Saturday. Lt. Don Nankervis said the officer was driving a marked police car eastbound on Elizabeth Lake Road near Avonlea at 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. Nankervis said the vehicle spun out and hit a vehicle driving westbound on Elizabeth Lake Road. According to the report, the officer received an injury to his head, and an occupant in the other vehicle suffered a broken arm. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment. Two people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries following an accident on Elizabeth Lake Road in White Lake Wednesday. Because of the accident, the road was temporarily shut down for the second time this week. The road was also closed Monday, after a woman was struck by a car. According to the report filed with the White Lake Police Department, a car being driven by a 59-year-old White Lake resident was traveling eastbound on Elizabeth Lake Road when it crossed the center line and side-swiped a truck. The truck, driven by an Ortonville man, 45, left the roadway and struck the guardrail along the road, according to police. White Lake Police are telling residents to avoid Elizabeth Lake Road between Oxbow Lake Road and Mill Street.
A three-car accident has shut down Elizabeth Lake Road in White Lake. Police are asking residents to avoid the area until at least 5:30 p.m. According to police, two cars sustained significant damage when they collided head-on near Elizabeth Lake Road and Mill Street. At least one person has been injured, but no other details are available at this time. Again, avoid Elizabeth Lake Road between Oxbow Lake and Mill Streets. Rear-end accident results in the death of two White Lake dogs.
Two White Lake residents were taken to the hospital for treatment after an accident in the township Tuesday that resulted in the death of two dogs. According to White Lake Police Lt. Don Nankervis, a 35-year-old male was driving his GMC Envoy eastbound on M-59 near Ormond at 7:30 p.m. when he collided with the back of a Chrysler Town & Country van driven by a 52-year-old woman. Nankervis said the woman had her two Newfoundland dogs in the back, and both dogs were killed in the accident. Both the man and woman were treated for their injuries and released. Nankervis said the accident remains under investigation. Blood was drawn from the man to test for alcohol prior to his release from the hospital. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked…
