I have authored over a hundred articles on a variety of topics relating to Macomb County residents, publishing in magazines like The American Cultivator, Detroit Live!, HEAR Mag, MMMR, and the Michigan Medical Marijuana Magazine. In my position as Editor in Chief of 4M Magazine it was my great pleasure- and a terrible source of sadness- to meet, spend time with and interview some of Michigan's most ill individuals. Their stories, and their paths to a life with less pain, motivate me to share what I learn with the Patch community. My education hasn't stopped: I am fortunate to be on the forefront of activism and social change in our Great Lakes State. I co-host a radio broadcast every Saturday at noon on 1310 AM radio, I'm a in-studio guest every week on Thursday evenings' broadcast of the Planet Green Trees radio program on blogtalkradio.com, and am part of the production team that records a weekly podcast from a retail store on 12 Mile Road.

My interests are varied and the blogs you read from me will cover a variety of topics. I suffer from terrible migraine headaches, and my struggle to find peace within that restrictive cage will fuel some columns. My family is ill, with a sister that's twice beaten cancer and a family history of diabetes, gout, Lynch's Syndrome, and more. Environmental issues weigh heavily on my mind as my three children start their own lives in the world we've left for them. Lunacy on a local scale and national nonsense are targets of my ire. The Patch network offers a greater opportunity to reach out to share experience, to teach others, and- the most important thing- to learn. An open mind is the best tool a writer can have; for a parent, it's a pretty good thing, too.
