Easy Barbecue Country Ribs

A recipe for those on the go.

The theme of this column lately has been barbecue, and honestly I blame the weather and the fact that barbecue food just tastes so good and can be so easy to make.

This recipe, for barbecue country ribs, in particular is another slow cooker recipe that you can throw together in the morning and let cook all day while you're out at work or running errands. When you get home, your entire house will smell of delicious barbecue sauce, and you'll have an incredible meal ready to serve.

Again, this week, I picked up my meat from the . If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend you check it out. It's grown bigger each week, and the variety of vendors continues to improve. I picked up two pounds of country ribs, a pecan apple pie and a loaf of cinnamon swirl bread for less than $25.

To make this recipe, you'll need the following:

  • 2-4 pounds of country-style ribs
  • salt, pepper and garlic salt to season the ribs
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce (I used an 18-ounce bottle of Sweet Baby Rays)
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
